Mponela Secondary School is a public secondary school located in Mponela, Dowa District, Malawi. The school is committed to providing quality, inclusive, and learner-centred education that prepares students for higher education, employment, and responsible citizenship. Through its Day and Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programmes, the school continues to produce outstanding academic results and successful university entrants. Guided by its motto, “Quality Education Is Here,” Mponela Secondary School strives to nurture excellence, discipline, leadership, and lifelong learning among its students.
Mponela Secondary School proudly celebrates the selection of 75 students into Malawi’s public universities and colleges in 2026, with 41 from the Day Programme and 34 from the ODL Programme. The students have secured places at MZUNI, UNIMA, MUBAS, MUST, KUHeS, LUANAR, Domasi, and Nalikule, pursuing various professional and academic programmes. This outstanding achievement reflects the hard work of the students, the dedication of teachers, and the support of parents, reaffirming the school’s commitment to excellence and its motto: “Quality Education Is Here.”
